Healthy Eating - Cacao Bliss

Introducing to you... a new monthly blogpost on how you can prepare for your wedding with some deliciously healthy recipes! We have tried them all, so don't worry about not having any cooking skills - Ingredients can be easily sourced in Hong Kong and the directions are fool-proof. Simple, easy and oh-so-tasty!



– 1/5 of a cup of crushed almonds (or other nuts, you can add any ingredients - sometimes I like hemp seeds or cocoa nibs, matcha powder, almond or peanut butter, dried cherries, pumpkin seeds etc)

– 3/4 of a cup of organic dried shredded coconut ( 1/2 a cup is for the ball mixture, 1/4 cup to be kept aside for rolling)

– a pinch of pink Himalayan salt

– 6 -12 organic Medjool dates ( remove pits )


  1. Soak your Medjool dates for 20 min in warm water (this will make them less sticky when rolling). Drain water and pat medjool dates dry.

  2. Place all ingredients into your food processor. If you do not have one, you can easily mush this by hand, the same way you’d kneed bread batter.

  3. Pulse or blend until ingredients are completely mixed together. Mixture will seem quite dry and feel a bit sticky.

  4. Take a tablespoon of the mixture and roll into a ball in the palm on your hands. Place ball to the side and continue until you have used all your mixture. I find this recipe will gibe you around 20 balls give or take.

  5. Take your 1/4 cup of shredded coconut and place on a plate.

  6. Roll your prepared balls in the coconut until you have your desired coverage, and then your all done!

  7. Store your bliss balls in the fridge – they can stay fresh in the freezer for up to 2 months, in the fridge probably 8-10 days.
