Wedding inspiration: Laine and Mark

This week has been about Laine and Mark's beautiful wedding on the Star Ferry and at the Butcher's Club Deli, Hong Kong. Inspired by Timzi & Damian's wedding, Laine took the decorations to the next level and we are so honoured to have worked with her and Mark to achieve such amazing decoration!

With a truly intimate group of friends, the Star Ferry was lightly decorated with soft draping fabrics and vine, letting the dark wood and white of the ferry stand out. Her gorgeous garden rose bouquet was also in soft pastel colours, allowing Justin Lim, the photographer, to really capture the soft, delicate side of the day - despite the tropical heat of May!

For their guests, Laine and Mark distributed bamboo fans and soft drinks and decorated their closer party with gorgeous peony boutonnieres and corsages - which couldn't stop blooming throughout the day! All of the soft flowers were finished off with a blue, red and white ribbon, the important team Great Britain colours, which was a running theme throughout the day.

After the Star Ferry, the couple and their guests moved on to the Butcher's Club Deli in Aberdeen, where they booked the venue out for a night to remember! Decorated with a human size DANCE sign (which is still at the deli, for those of you who want to use it again!), fairy lights, marmite jars and little British telephone booth boxes full of delicious British candy, the truly personalised picnic style dinner was polished off with a delicious three tiered red velvet cake, rusticly decorated with fresh flowers and berries. The restaurant also offered rum chocolate truffles, where I must have beat the record for amount of sugar consumed in an hour. YUM!

After all of that sugar, Mark and his DJ friends played old school tunes for everyone to get their (well deserved and needed) boogie on until the wee hours of the morning. The photos look absolutely stunning and the venue could not have been a better one for an all night, Europpean-styled post wedding party, which we know can be quite difficult to find in Hong Kong.

Believe it or not, this wedding was decorated mainly with lights and not flowers - which gave it a truly fun, original feel - and we loved it! So a real tip for all of the brides-to-be out there: if you feel like flowers are becoming a little too much for your wedding, use fairy lights, candles or anything with a bit of light!! And get a large vintage light bulb sign, because there is no message like a human size message!!!!

We wish Laine and Mark an amazing, relaxed, fun-filled married life and we cannot wait to catch up with them soon!
