I love all kinds of wedding dresses. Off the rack, second hand, bespoke... They all look so beautiful and scome in so many different styles, it's so frustrating to think we only get married once. But what I love even more than a wedding dress is a personalised wedding dress - one that nobody else has... Bespoke dresses are great, but if you have found that special dress in a shop and they dont want to change it up for you (which is normal, by the way), there is nothing stopping you from embellishing yourself, to make it truly your own.
This bride bought a gorgeous dress from Pronovias and we helped her embellish it with beautiful French lace - it has become a completely different dress, even more stunning and elegant than before! We can;t wait to see her photos.
Here are a few things you can do that are easy and fail proof:
- Add some fresh water pearls: three fresh water pearls on a high neckline look absolutely amazing and add great depth and detail to any dress. If you do not have a high neckline, then buy smaller fresh water pearls and scatter them along your neckline, starting from the center front. Make sure your thread is the same colour as your dress!
- Add some see-through sequins: you can stitch these a little all over the dress. The see-throughness will make them discreet and allow you to scatter them randomly. Make sure you buy sequins that aren't flat to help catch more light.
Now... No more excuses and get sewing!
